Issue

  • Newly-joined ONTAP node does not complete cluster join operation and command line continually resets with the following: 

The management gateway server restarted. Waiting to see if the connection can be reestablished
Aug 28 09:04:58 [Cluster01-03:spm.mgwd.process.exit:EMERGENCY]: Management Gateway (mgwd) subsystem with ID 2145 exited as a result of signal normal exit (0). The subsystem will attempt to restart.
The management gateway server restarted. Waiting to see if the connection can be reestablished.

  • The new node appears in the cluster but is unhealthy:
