Disk aggressive flush start and end errors

Issue

  • Disk has an aggressive flush error and latency errors on the disks:

node03-nfsxxx.mail.bf1.inc.com [node03-nfshs101-mail-bf1:disk.timeout.flush.start:debug]: Aggressive timeout flush started on disk 3a.07.22L1.

node03-nfsxxx.mail.bf1.inc.com [node03-nfshs101-mail-bf1: disk.timeout.flush.end:debug]: Aggressive timeout flush ended on disk 3a.07.22L1.

  • ONTAP will fail the disk after running the correction algorithms and the below error will be displayed:

node03-nfsxxx-mail-bf1: disk_latency_monitor: shm.threshold.highIOLatency:error]: Disk 3b.02.14L1 exceeds the average IO latency threshold and will be recommended for failure.
