AFF C190 loses configuration after boot device Panic

Issue

  • After a node panics due to the boot device becoming unreadable, the node loses configuration
  • When attempting to boot the node after the panic, messages such as this are seen:

[nv2flash.misc.dbg:NOTICE]: nv2f_write_msg_to_flash: Failed to write flash at offset 0x55200 ret -1.Error on reading meta data header!
Error on retrieve data from device...

WARNING: Failed to restore /var from /dev/nvrd1. Removing logs...

ERROR: netapp_varfs: Failed to restore /var from /dev/nvrd1 after clean shutdown. Please contact technical support.

  • The node boots into the cluster setup wizard:
