Why is the number of files in the System Manager report greater than the number of files reported by the on-demand scan?

Answer

  • The number of files displayed by system manager is not real-time information.
  • System manager displays the number of entire files containing alternate data streams.
  • On-demand scans are based on readable files, so the difference is expected behavior.
