Issue

blockServiceUnhealthy and clusterCannotSync alerts which persist on a cluster are impactful and NetApp Support should be engaged for assistance.

After upgrading to Element Software 12.x, however, a number of blockServiceUnhealthy and clusterCannotSync alerts can occur which:

  • are seen to resolve in just a few seconds
  • are not impactful to the cluster
Example errors:

blockServiceUnhealthy

A block service is unhealthy and SolidFire is attempting to migrate data away from it.

blocksDegraded

Only a single complete copy of the block data is accessible. Restore any offline nodes or block services or contact support for assistance.
-or-
No complete copies of the block data are accessible. Restore any offline nodes or block services or contact support for assistance.

clusterCannotSync

Cluster Block Data is in a degraded state, and the auto-heal process to restore full block data redundancy cannot proceed. Either too many nodes or block services are offline, or the cluster block services are too full. Add more block capacity or contact support for assistance with the offline nodes or drives.
