Answer

  • Per Support Bulletin SU530, all ONTAP versions that follow 9.13.1 (including 9.13.1 itself and later release families) address CVE-2022-38023.
  • Resolution is to upgrade ONTAP Select to an ONTAP release that includes enhancement ID 1514175.
  • ONTAP Select runs the same ONTAP codebase and patch (P) levels as ONTAP.
  • No Select-specific patch train exists.
  • Recommended action:
    1. Identify current ONTAP version.
    2. Plan and perform an upgrade to ONTAP 9.13.1 or any later supported release family (for example, 9.14.1, 9.15.1), following Interoperability Matrix Tool (IMT) and upgrade path guidance.
    3. For ONTAP Select, use the standard ONTAP image and the documented ONTAP Select upgrade workflow (typically orchestrated via ONTAP Select Deploy).
