ONTAP Select: Cluster Refresh fails with ONTAPGetClusterIdentityFailed

Issue

After maintenance work on an ESXi host (that hosts one or more ONTAP Select VMs), the cluster refresh operation might fail and the following errors are reported in the Deploy event logs:

  • Refresh operation for cluster "cluster01" completed with errors. For more information, review the events.
  • Cluster state changed from "powered_on" to "degraded".
  • Node network information refresh failed for node "cluster01-n01". Reason: None.
  • Node state refresh failed for node "cluster01-n01". Reason: None.
  • ONTAPGetClusterIdentityFailed: Failed to retrieve cluster identity from ONTAP. Reason: Connection refused.
