Issue

  • During a scheduled maintenance activity, the customer performed a VMotion migration of ONTAP Select cluster nodes ots001-01 and ots001-02 from an Intel-based ESXi host to an AMD-based ESXi host.
  • After issuing a storage failover takeover command "storage failover-takeover -ofnode ots001-02 -halt true", node ots001-01 did not complete the takeover. Storage failover was disabled by system. The cluster was left in a state where takeover and giveback operations were not possible.
