Cluster management IP times out over SSH but the node management IPs are accessible

Issue

  • The cluster management LIF and all the node management LIFs are in the same subnet and underlying ports are in the same broadcast-domain.
  • The cluster management IP address times out over SSH.
  • Ping fails from client to the cluster management  LIF.
  • The node management IP that is hosted on the same port and node as the cluster management LIF is pingable and reachable over SSH.
  • Packet trace analysis on port hosting cluster-management LIF indicates:
    • SYN from the client is received on the storage port.
    • SYN-ACK is sent from the storage port to the client.
    • Final ACK is not received from the client to storage.
