Answer

ASA r2 uses Storage Availability Zones (SAZ) instead of aggregates. A SAZ is a shared, RAID‑protected pool of disks for an HA pair, giving both nodes full access to the same storage. ONTAP automatically handles volume placement and capacity within the SAZ, simplifying management, improving availability, and ensuring balanced performance without manual aggregate configuration.
