  • Disabling these protocols prevents ONTAP from detecting the neighbor information.
  • The cluster network and switchless configuration detection use these protocols to view the information of neighboring devices that are connected to each port of the nodes.

In order to add a switch when CDP and LLDP are disabled, use system cluster-switch create command
