How to move mroot to a new root aggregate in a single node cluster
Applies to
- ONTAP 9.6
- Clustered Data ONTAP 8.3
- Clustered Data ONTAP 8.2
Description
In clustered Data ONTAP 8.2 and later, a single-node cluster is a supported configuration. In order to move the node's root volume there are number of steps involved, which requires halting the system and thus is disruptive. This article describes the procedure for moving mroot to a new root aggregate in a single node cluster.
If you are running a cluster with more than a single node, see article How to non-disruptively migrate a node's root aggregate onto new disks in Clustered Data ONTAP 8.2 and 8.3.
