Description

  • This article describes the procedure to delete an unwanted or unnecessary cluster LIF
  • ONTAP creates cluster LIFs when a node is added to a cluster and those LIFs do not need to be modified
  • There should always be a one-to-one relationship between cluster ports and cluster LIFs on each node in the cluster
  • A reduction in cluster ports can occur in the following scenarios:
    • cluster switch infrastructure is upgraded to higher speeds, which requires fewer higher-speed ports
    • A controller refresh/upgrade that reduces the number of cluster ports required for the node
