Cluster out of quorum during switch upgrade due to improper cluster network cabling

Issue

  • During a cluster switch upgrade data traffic connectivity is lost briefly
  • Node data LIFs failover to another node
  • Review of EMS log file output shows the cluster is out of quorum:
[?] Thu Mar 11 22:02:50 UTC [Node-02: kltp: clam.node.ooq:EMERGENCY]: Node (name=Node-01, ID=1000) is out of "CLAM quorum" (reason=node in minority).
[?] Thu Mar 11 22:02:50 UTC [Node-02: kltp: clam.node.ooq:EMERGENCY]: Node (name=Node-02, ID=1001) is out of "CLAM quorum" (reason=node in minority).
[?] Thu Mar 11 22:02:50 UTC [Node-02: kltp: clam.node.ooq:EMERGENCY]: Node (name=Node-03, ID=1002) is out of "CLAM quorum" (reason=node in minority).
[?] Thu Mar 11 22:02:50 UTC [Node-02: kltp: clam.node.ooq:EMERGENCY]: Node (name=Node-04, ID=1003) is out of "CLAM quorum" (reason=node in minority).
