Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • FTPS

Answer

  • No, there is no direct way to configure the ports to be used by the storage server.
  • FTPS is designed to choose a random port when acknowledging a client request.

Additional Information

  • RFC 4217: Securing FTP with TLS
  • Because of the way FTPS works, it is not considered a firewall-friendly file transfer protocol.
  • With a firewall in place, consider using other protocols (like HTTPS or SFTP) for file transfer that only use a specific port so that it can be easily allowed on firewalls.
