FAS2650, FAS8200, AFF A200, AFF A300 and AFF A800 systems report an occasional EMS message 'nvmem.battery.wrongCharge' for several seconds and recovers

Issue

  • After the EMS message nvmem.battery.wrongCharge is triggered, the battery recovers after several seconds.

cluster::> event log show -severity * -event *battery*

[hostname: env_mgr: nvmem.battery.wrongCharge:alert]: The NVMEM battery charger is charging the battery even though the battery is not requesting to be charged. To prevent data loss, the system will shut down in 24 hours.
[hostname: env_mgr: nvmem.battery.normalCharge:notice]: The NVMEM battery charging status is normal.

  • system node environment sensors show reports battery charge is normal.
