igroup members showing not logged in after upgrade

Issue

  • After upgrading ONTAP MetroCluster from 9.7 to 9.8 it is observed that ESXi Hosts on each site have not logged back in with all initiators to initiator group (igroup).
    • All fabric physical layer components and cables are checked and do not indicate an error except errdump -a reports Frame unroute detected on all host ports.

  • system health subsystem show states ONTAP health is OK
  • igroup show indicates missing initiators WWN for hosts
  • igroup show -instance shows (not logged in) against host igroup and cluster igroup
