Service Processor (SP)

Issue

  • SP is not pingable
  • EMS reports Service Processor (SP) network port link down due to cable or network errors.

Example:

Mar  2 22:00:01 [Node1:sp.network.link.down:error]: Service Processor (SP) network port link down due to cable or network errors.

  • IP information of SP is unknown in the command sysconfig -a.
  • Network cable is connected and link is up, but Ethernet Link still shows down.

Example:

Service Processor           Status: Online
            Firmware Version:   5.7
            Mgmt MAC Address:   00:A0:98:DC:D2:00
            Ethernet Link:      down, full duplex, auto-neg complete
            Using DHCP:         no
IPv4 configuration:
            IP Address:         unknown
            Netmask:            unknown
            Gateway:            unknown
IPv6 configuration:         Disabled

  • System reports incorrect password when login SP.
