System fails to boot after boot_recovery process with failed hardware component

Issue

  • Node is attempted to be recovered with the boot_recovery command:

LOADER-A> boot_recovery 991P4_q_image.tgz
Downloading 991P4_q_image.tgz ..

  • Recovery fails to write to boot device:

Install Validation Failed.
diskinfo: /dev/ada0: No such file or directory
ERROR: Unable to read diskinfo from device /dev/ada0.
Checking network link... umount: /mnt: not a file system root directory

  • The recovery process prompts for reboot:

The node must be rebooted to start using the newly installed software. Do you
want to reboot now? {y|n} y

  • The controller fails to boot:

Can't find backup boot device u0a.1                                             
ACPI RSDP Found at 0x6c9ed000                                                   
NVMe not present!                                                               
PCI device check failed                                                         
ERROR: Platform verification failed. Autoboot will be disabled.
