Issue

  • Health Monitor Alert for a Cluster switch.

Node-01: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchSNMPCommunication_Alert , Alerting Resource = sw1 raised by monitor ethernet-switch

  • SNMP invalid settings reported for the monitored cluster switches.

  • An attempt to delete the switches from monitoring and adding back fails with the below error:

Cluster::*> system cluster-switch create -device sw1 -address 10.xx.xx.xx -snmp-version SNMPv2c -community-or-username cshm1! -model OTHER -type cluster-network -is-monitoring-enabled-admin true

Error: command failed: SNMP validation request timed out. Verify that the "-community-or-username" parameter is valid.

  • SNMP walk from cluster fails with Operation timed out error as show below

  • Cluster Switch IP is reachable from mgmt network when pinging and is in the same subnet as mgmt network hence ruling out the firewall or reachability
