SPAutoUpgradeFailedMajorAlert during BMC update failure in ONTAP upgrade

  • Staged ONTAP upgrade from 9.7P22 to 9.9.1P19 to 9.13.1P9

Issue

  • During the ONTAP upgrade from 9.7P22 to 9.9.1P19 and then to 9.13.1P9, the BMC update fails on HA one node, remaining at version 11.9P1.

The following EMS log are observed  SPAutoUpgradeFailedMajorAlert:
