One of the cluster network switches became unresponsive due to power cycle

Issue

  • One of the cluster network switches became unresponsive and was not reachable via ping
  • DC team observed two amber lights on the switch.
  • After a power cycle, the switch returned to normal operation, and the lights turned green.
  • There was no indication of planned maintenance at the time of the incident.
  • "system health alert show" output reports the following alert:

AlertID: SwitchInfoUpdateFailure_Alert
Resource: Switch01 
Severity: Major
IndicationTime: Fri Jan 16 05:40:41 2026
ProbableCause: Information from the Ethernet switch 'Switch01' is no longer being updated. 

  • Switch logs report the following messages:
Line 141464: Reset Reason (HW): PowerCycled (112) at time Fri Jan 16 07:00:31 2026
Line 266465: Logging hw reset reason 112 for slotnum 0
