Node Stuck at LOADER Prompt with Error: netapp_varfs: failed to restore /var from /dev/nvrd1

Issue

  • During a node takeover or following a reboot, the node fails to boot and halts at the LOADER prompt. The following error appears on the console:

    ERROR: netapp_varfs: Failed to restore /var from /dev/nvrd1 after clean shutdown. Please contact technical support.WARNING: Failed to restore /var from /dev/nvrd1. Removing logs...ERROR: netapp_varfs: No /var/VERSION file found on /dev/nvrd1 after unclean shutdown.pid 604 (bsdtar), uid 0: inumber 532 on /var: filesystem full

  • The node cannot proceed past the LOADER prompt, preventing it from joining the cluster or resuming normal operations.
