Issue

  • During installation, node repeatedly rebooted and failed to complete cluster setup due to disks not being detected from the maintenance mode.
  • Symptoms:
    • Nodes stuck in a boot loop with  “No disks found” error.
    • Ports e0c/e0d are online, but disks are not visible from sysconfig -v output from the maintenance mode .
    • After cabling to the correct storage ports (e4a/e4b) following document cable shelf to AFF systems - NS224 shelves, the ports show:
      e4a MAC Address: 5x:25:73:78:xy:d4 (auto-unknown-fd-down)
      e4b MAC Address: 5x:25:73:78:xy:d5 (auto-unknown-fd-down)
  • Reseating the cards on slot 4 of both the nodes did not resolve the issue.
