Issue

A node panic was observed on a FAS8300 system after a Flash Cache NVMe module went offline. The following log entries and symptoms were reported:

  • AutoSupport/EMS alert:
    FLNVME: HAGroupNotification from NELENASND01 (FlashCacheNVMeOffline) ALERT
  • sysconfig -a output:
    slot 1: Flash Cache NVMe
    Serial Number:      XXXXXXXX200281
            Part Number:        119-00329
            Hardware Revision:  A0
            Firmware Version:   NA03
            Model Name:         X3311A
            Capacity:           1024 GB
            State:              failed   
  • Node panic message:
    PANIC: prod/common/wafl/cleaner/wabe/wabe_bkt.c:8957: Assertion failure in SK process mpcleaner_thread1 on release 9.18.1P5(C)
  • After reboot, the Flash Cache NVMe module recovered and returned to an “ok” state.
