NVRAM Battery Low Alert on FAS8300/FAS8700/AFF A400 system

Issue

  • BATTERY (capacity low) AutoSupport mail sent.
  • ONTAP event messages (EMS-LOG-FILE) example:
The NVMEM battery charger is disabled because a bad charger circuit is detected.
....
ALERT monitor.shutdown.nvramLowBattery.pending: NVRAM battery is dangerously low. Halting system in 24 hours. Replace the battery immediately!
ALERT callhome.battery.low: Call home for BATTERY_LOW.
EMERGENCY monitor.nvramLowBattery: NVRAM battery is dangerously low.
ERROR nvmem.battery.capLowWarn: The NVMEM battery capacity is below normal (4 cycles).
ALERT monitor.shutdown.nvramLowBattery.pending:  NVRAM battery is dangerously low. Halting system in 23 hours. Replace the battery immediately!
  • NVMEM battery capacity is below normal. Example:
