NVMEM battery alerts during an active learning cycle on

Issue

  • NVRAM battery is dangerously low on node01 from the EMS log.

[node01: statd: monitor.nvramLowBattery:EMERGENCY]: NVRAM battery is dangerously low.
[node01: statd: monitor.nvramLowBattery.notice:notice]: If the NVRAM battery is dangerously low, the system shuts down automatically every 24 hours to encourage you to replace it. If you reboot the system it will run for another 24 hours before shutting down.
[node01: statd: callhome.battery.low:alert]: Call home for BATTERY_LOW.
[node01: statd: monitor.shutdown.nvramLowBattery.pending:alert]: NVRAM battery is dangerously low. Halting system in 24 hours. Replace the battery immediately!

  • Two hours later, an SNMP trap "dhmNoticeDegradedIO" is sent to the customer's monitoring server.

  • From SP log, the NVRAM battery learning cycle is being performed at that time.
