Issue

  • The ifgrp is in partial participation even though the link for both ports are up.

::> ifgrp show
         Port       Distribution                   Active
Node     IfGrp      Function     MAC Address       Ports   Ports
-------- ---------- ------------ ----------------- ------- -------------------
Cluster-01
         a0a        ip           02:a0:98:54:01:8b partial  e0a, e0b

::> network port show

Node: Cluster-01
                                                  Speed(Mbps) Health
Port      IPspace      Broadcast Domain Link MTU  Admin/Oper  Status
--------- ------------ ---------------- ---- ---- ----------- --------
e0a       Default      Default          up   1500  auto/10000 healthy
e0b       Default      Default          up   1500  auto/10000 healthy

  • Network trace on the port shows ONTAP pushing traffic to the NIC.
  • Issue is not resolved from SFP replacement.
  • When disconnecting the port, the link goes away and comes back when reconnected, as expected. This may vary as the NIC firmware may not change state if defective.
