Description
Check Active IQ if this impacts your systems.
NetApp controllers feature error-correcting code (ECC) memory modules (DIMM) for both main memory and the NVRAM subsystem.
- Correctable memory errors are handled automatically, with no intervention and no impact on system performance.
- Correctable ECC error messages are located in the system log or EMS event log.
- Correctable ECC errors are not an indicator that an uncorrectable ECC error will occur.
- Uncorrectable memory errors will cause a system disruption (panic).
- If a system disruption occurs, the panic message will call out the DIMM or DIMMs where the uncorrectable error occurred, those DIMMs should then be replaced.
