Description

How to perform a Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) network setup from the LOADER prompt on AFF and FAS platforms.

Manual configuration of the BMC from the LOADER prompt is only performed under a limited set of circumstances. The recommended method of configuring the BMC is in ONTAP by using the system service-processor network modify clustershell command.

Note that any BMC network configuration changes made at the LOADER prompt will be overwritten (resynced) by ONTAP using any saved configuration shortly after ONTAP boots up.
