Description

This KB article helps you determine the correct part to order when replacing a 1600-Watt  power supply unit (PSU) in some NetApp products:

  • Current 1600-Watt (W) PSUs of NetApp AFF, ASA, FAS and E-Series storage systems are certified at 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency
  • Effective 2024-01-01, Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/424 requires power supplies for certain classes of storage equipment to meet the 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency requirement
  • NetApp 80 PLUS Titanium 1600W PSUs are now available
  • NetApp leverages multiple suppliers for a given Mfg. part number and power efficiency

IMPORTANT: Intermixing PSUs with different efficiencies in the same chassis is not supported. When replacing a PSU, the correct part must be used or damage to the system might occur.
