Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • AFF A300 / FAS8200

Issue

  • Extremely high performance degradation after ONTAP upgrade and/or reboot
  • The performance degradation can be noticed as:
    • High CPU utilization, most of it is coming from wafl_exempt CPU domain
    • All the latency is coming from CPU Data Blade
    • High latency on the volumes even with minimal Ops
    • Long Consistency Points (CP)
    • From waffinity view high run time on CPU for all messages
    • Unexplainable high run time for several processes
    • Node boots up slowly (20-30 minutes)
