FAS8300 node down unexpectedly without any error due to faulty DIMM

Issue

  • The FAS8300 node down unexpectedly without any error.
  • No console output and BMC remain accessible.
  • system power on from BMC doesn't boot the node.
  • BMC prompt following event:

BMC login: [000101000504][IPMIMain][INFO]No data found in arp table, update arp with command: ping -I eth0 -c 1 -s 8 -W 1 xxx.xxx.xxx.x > /dev/null
[1010 : 1080 WARNING][PDKEEPROM.c:242]Error accessing EEPROM, busNo = 3, SlaveAddr = 160

[000101000818][8939:8939:bmc][ERROR][easyplx.c:easyplx_init:503]host power is not on. no access to plx

  • Motherboard replacement doesn't resolve the issue.
  • Console shows output with the removal of DIMM from the motherboard.
