EMS log 'splogd is running in degraded mode and having difficulty getting splogs from the SP FW' - MotherBoard communication issue

Issue

  • Error is reported in EMS log:

splog.warnings: Could not retrieve logs from the SP for 24 hours: splogd is running in degraded mode and having difficulty getting splogs from the SP FW

  • Reboot of the BMC/SP does not resolve the issue:

cluster::> system service-processor reboot-sp -node <nodename>

  • Error is also reported in EMS log:

spmgmt.driver.timeout: Unable to update SP network information at this time

  • sysconfig -a output for BMC or SP is marked as unknown:
