DS212C Shelf EMS log report Temperature sensor 9 is undertemperature failure

Issue

  • Chassis under temperature shutdown alert observed.

 EMS log:
[env_mgr: monitor.shutdown.chassisUnderTemp:error]: Chassis temperature is too cold: System temperature is critically low. System will be shutdown in 2 minutes.  
[env_mgr: monitor.shutdown.cancel:notice]: Automatic shutdown sequence canceled.
[dsa_worker2: ses.status.temperatureInfo:info]: DS212-12 (S/N ****) shelf 0 on channel 0b temperature information for Temperature sensor 9: normal status.
[statd: monitor.shelf.fault.ok:notice]: Fault previously reported on disk storage shelf attached to channel 0b has been corrected.
[env_mgr: callhome.chassis.undertemp:EMERGENCY]: Call home for CHASSIS UNDER TEMPERATURE SHUTDOWN
[env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 2 is degraded: PSU2 sensors in bad state

  • Temperature sensor 9 is in critical status due to an undertemperature failure.

EMS log:
 [power_low_monitor: monitor.chassisPower.degraded:alert]: Chassis power is degraded: Power Supply Status Critical: PSU2.
 [power_low_monitor: callhome.chassis.power:error]: Call home for CHASSIS POWER DEGRADED: Power Supply Status Critical: PSU2.
[ dsa_worker2: ses.status.temperatureError:error]: DS212-12 (S/N ***) shelf 0 on channel 0b temperature error for Temperature sensor 9: critical status; undertemperature failure. Current temperature: 0 C (32 F).  This module is on the rear of the shelf on the lower right power supply.

  • In the PLATFORM-SENSORS.XML log, PSU2 is reported as being in a fault state.
