Cluster join fails with IP address conflict

Issue

  • Unable to join a node to the cluster.

Enter the IP address of an interface on the private cluster network from the
cluster you want to join: 169.254.124.97
 
Joining cluster at address 169.254.124.97
 
Trying to join cluster again as previous attempt failed ....Error: The joining node is using address "10.34.50.55" in IPspace "Default", but this address conflicts with the address used by a different joining node (uuid "e72322ef-eb50-11ed-932d-d039eaa4a34d"). Use the "network interface modify" command to assign a different address to one of the two LIFs, then try the command again.
 
Resolve the issue, then try the command again.
 
Restarting Cluster Setup

  • Verify the IP address is not used by other nodes.
