Applies to

  • ARL Headswap
  • AFF 8040 to AFF A400

Issue

  • Cluster ports e0a and e0b in use on AFF 8040
  • After swapping to the second new AFF A400 node, on the following step from the documentation for Upgrade Controllers, the commands to remove the e0a port from the cluster broadcast domain is not working with the following error

broadcast-domain remove-ports -ipspace Cluster -broadcast-domain Cluster -ports node:port

Error, 'system is not fully initialized', please wait some time and try the command again

  • The e0a and e0b port can be seen in the "network port show" output in the Cluster IPspace
  • This is not expected as e0a and e0b are the HA interconnect ports on the AFF A400
