CSHM fails to monitor Cisco N9K-C9336C-FX2 switch with reason Unsupported Model

  • Error seen when attempting to add Cisco Nexus N9K-C9336C-FX2 switch:
    Error: "N9K-C9336C-FX2" is an invalid value for field "-model
           Valid choices in this command's context: NX5010, NX5020, CAT2960, OTHER,
           NX5596, CN1610, CN1601, NX3132, NX5548, NX3132V, OT9332, NX3132XL,
  • CSHM reports Cisco switch N9K-C9336C-FX2 switch as "Unsupported Model":

Probable Cause:Configuration_error
Description:Unsupported Ethernet switch is detected.
Corrective Actions:Unsupported Ethernet switch "Switch1(XXXXXXXXXXX)" found. Connect a supported Ethernet switch to the network.
Possible Effect:Communication problems and network connectivity issues occur.

  • Due to this issue, the switch may be reported as missing.
