Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • SAS disk shelves

Issue

  • A disk shelf on another set of SAS adapters in the same HA pair is moved to two different SAS adapters.
    • For example, shelf 12 is originally attached to SAS port 1a and 1d and was hot-moved (all disks are spares) to ports 2a and 2d which has an existing stack of shelves already in it.
  • When the shelf cables are finished being moved, some or all of the disks in the moved shelf instead of being listed as <stack ID>.<shelf ID>.<bay>, they are listed as <nodename>:<sas adapter>.<shelf ID>.<bay>
    • For example, the disk in shelf 12 bay 1 is reporting as "node1:2a.12.1" instead of "1.12.1"
