Issue

  • AFF A900 and FAS9500 systems report nvram.battery.chargeFET.off  and nvram.battery.capacity.low.critical error that self corrects in 1 minute:

Mon Sep 25 01:39:59 +0200 [NODE02: env_mgr: nvram.battery.chargeFET.off:debug]: The NVRAM battery charge FET is off. To prevent data loss, the system will shut down in 24 hours.

Mon Sep 25 01:40:09 +0200 [NODE02: env_mgr: nvram.battery.chargeFET.normal:debug]: The NVRAM battery charge FET is on.

Mon Sep 25 01:40:29 +0200 [NODE02: env_mgr: callhome.battery.warning:debug]: Call home for BATTERY (charge FET off) WARNING.

[nvram.battery.capacity.low.critical:EMERGENCY]: The NVRAM battery capacity is critically low (0 cycles). To prevent data loss, the system will shut down in 5 minutes.
[callhome.battery.failure:EMERGENCY]: Call home for BATTERY (capacity low) CRITICAL.
[nvram.battery.capacity.normal:info]: The NVRAM battery capacity is normal.

  • This also triggers AutoSupport notification:
HA Group Notification (BATTERY (charge FET off)) ALERT
