Applies to

  • X/SP-387A (X387_SEVNE16TA07, X387_WPSCE16TA07)
  • X/SP-388A (X388_SEVNE16TA07, X388_WPSCE16TA07)
  • Data + Root partitioning (P1 and P2 partitioned disks / ADPv1)

Issue

  • Incorrect disk size 9324.2GB is seen in sysconfig -a output after a replacement. The expected disk size is 14949.1GB. Example:
::> system node run -node node_name -command sysconfig -a
...
00.0 : NETAPP X388_SEVNE16TA07 NA00 14949.1GB 520B/sect (AB123451)
00.1 : NETAPP X388_SEVNE16TA07 NA00 9324.2GB  520B/sect (AB123452)
00.2 : NETAPP X388_SEVNE16TA07 NA00 14949.1GB 520B/sect (AB123453)
...
00.6 : NETAPP X388_WPSCE16TA07 NA00 9324.2GB  520B/sect (AB123457)
...
  • Disk automatically partitions and the P2 root partition assimilates into a RAID group or becomes spare because it has the expected size. Example:

::> system node run -node node_name -command sysconfig -r
...
Aggregate root_aggr (online, raid_dp, fast zeroed) (block checksums)
Plex /root_aggr/plex0 (online, normal, active, pool0)
RAID group /root_aggr/plex0/rg0 (normal, block checksums)
RAID Disk Device     HA SHELF BAY CHAN Pool Type RPM  Used (MB/blks)  Phys (MB/blks)
      --------- ------     -- ----- --- ---  ---- ---- ---- ----- --------- --------------
      dparity   0b.00.1P2  0b 0     1   SA:A 0    FSAS 7200 63849/130764288 63857/130780672 (fast zeroed)
      parity    0b.00.3P2  0b 0     3   SA:A 0    FSAS 7200 63849/130764288 63857/130780672

      ...

  • The remaining data or spare P1 partition size is not valid for the other RAID group because it is smaller than expected. Example:

Pool0 spare disks
