CHW-3903: Node shuts down after twenty minutes following a battery learning cycle

Issue

  • "{_}Bat Pct Capacity{_}" sensor reading drops below 39% and reads {_}critlow{_}. Example:

::> system node environment sensors show
...

  • For AutoSupport enabled systems, a "Call home" event is sent. Examples:

[nodename-1:callhome.battery.failure:EMERGENCY]: Call home for BATTERY (full charge capacity low) CRITICAL.

HA Group Notification (BATTERY (full charge capacity low)) EMERGENCY
  • ONTAP EMS logs for the impaired node examples:

[nodename-2: env_mgr: nvmem.battery.fccLowCrit:EMERGENCY]: The NVMEM battery full-charge capacity is critically low (38 ). To prevent data loss, the system will shut down in 20 minutes.
[nodename-2: env_mgr: monitor.shutdown.emergency:EMERGENCY]: Emergency shutdown: Environmental Reason Shutdown (Battery PCT capacity critical)
[nodename-2: cf_main: cf.fsm.takeover.on.halt:info]: Failover monitor: Node initiated automatic takeover after detecting that its partner node has halted.

  • Node is halted following the twenty minute period and is taken over
