Issue

  • Initial installation and cluster setup of an AFF A250 HA pair

  • Both nodes have a 4‑port 25GbE RoCE SFP28 (X1152) NIC in slot 1.

  • Logical NIC port mapping is incorrect for slot‑1 ports:

    • Physical e1a shows up as e1c in software.

    • Physical e1b shows up as e1d in software.

    • Physical e1c shows up as e1a in software.

    • Physical e1d shows up as e1b in software.

  • When a cable is plugged into physical e1a, network port show / sysconfig report e1c as up while e1a remains down.

  • Similar incorrect behavior occurs for the other three ports on both nodes.

  • The mis‑mapping prevents correct cabling for cluster setup, so cluster setup cannot be completed.

  • Issue persists after:

    • Reseating/swapping cables and SFPs.

    • Rebooting and power‑cycling both nodes.

    • Swapping NIC cards between slots.

  • Behavior is identical on both nodes in the HA pair.
