CFBMC-6632: BMC firmware upgrade from 13.7P1 to 13.10P1/13.11P1 causes “Unknown IPMI Completion Code” and BMC hang

Affects: BMC 13.x - AFF A400, AFF C400, ASA A400, ASA C400, FAS8300, FAS8700

  • During a BMC firmware update from version 13.7P1 to 13.10P1 or 13.11P1 , the following symptoms are observed:
    • Repeated console messages: Unknown IPMI completion code
    • BMC self-test: No Response and BMC IPMI communication failed
    • After a hard power‐cycle, BMC remains unresponsive, and the host fails to boot.
