Description

From ONTAP 9.10.1 ONTAP System Manager has the capability to temporarily prevent case generation by declaring a maintenance window.

  • We are planning to do some maintenance work. How do I stop unnecessary cases from being created by AutoSupport messages that are triggered during this scheduled maintenance window?
  • How do I stop receiving e-mails or phone calls from NetApp technical support personnel during planned maintenance activity?
  • What are the best practices for suppressing unnecessary AutoSupport e-mail cases during maintenance windows?

Procedure

  1. Login to System Manager
  2. Select CLUSTER -> Settings
  3. Select the ellipsis next to AutoSupport and select Suppress Support Case Generation
  4. Enter the duration of the maintenance window (up to 72 hours) and select the required nodes
  5. Click Send to trigger maintenance AutoSupports
