Unable to encrypt volumes with Fortanix Key server

Issue

While encrypting a volume using volume move the following error is displayed:
 
INFORMATIONAL mgmtgwd.jobmgr.jobcomplete.failure: Job "Volume Move" [id 554] (Move "vol1" in Vserver "SVM1" to aggregate "nvme_01") completed unsuccessfully: Creating volume: Internal error (1).
 
KMIP client log shows the following:
 
Thu Jun 06 2024 17:33:15 -04:00 [kern_kmip2_client:info:7755] [Jun  6 17:33:15]: 0x80a009500: 0: ERR: kmip2::tables::kmip_keytable_v2: [registerNveKey]:678: Error registering VEK. Exception: KmipBatchRegisterActivateException: Response status: OPERATION_FAILED. Reason: INVALID_FIELD. Message: No ID specified and placeholder is empty.
