Unable to bring a port administratively up on a Extreme Networks VDX switch

Issue

  • The affected port remains administratively down even after executing "no shutdown" command.
  • In raslogs, we can see the following events:

2021/02/19-13:40:38, [NSM-1002], 239840, M1 | Active | DCE, INFO, CORESW_XXX, Interface TenGigabitEthernet 1/4/45 is protocol down.
2021/02/19-13:40:38, [NSM-1003], 239841, M1 | Active | DCE, INFO, CORESW_XXX, Interface TenGigabitEthernet 1/4/45 is link down.
2021/02/19-13:40:38, [NSM-1020], 239842, M1 | Active | DCE, INFO, CORESW_XXX, Interface TenGigabitEthernet 1/4/45 is administratively down.
2021/02/19-13:40:38, [NSM-1049], 239843, M1 | Active | DCE, ERROR, CORESW_XXX, Interface te4/45 is administratively down due to an exception (asic port fault) set.
