Description

This article describes the procedure that should be followed to recover a Brocade password in case of a failure of the Brocade password recovery procedure.

The following are use cases for failure of the password recovery procedure on Brocade 300:

  • Passwords for the users (admin, root, factory, or user) are lost and it is not possible to either login or administer the switch.
  • Copy and Paste options are used to enter the passwords to login, without checking the content on the clipboard. Subsequently, it is no longer possible to log on to Brocade 300.
  • Note:  New platforms and FOS versions are likely using secure boot, see KB How to reset password with secure boot enabled on Gen 6 and Gen7 switches?
