Issue

  • ONTAP reports health alerts for a failed power supply or fan in the event logs:

[Cluster-02: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchPowerNotPresent_Alert, Alerting Resource = SW-BRO-01/PowerSupply-2 raised by monitor cluster-switch
[Cluster-02: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert, Alerting Resource = SW-BRO-01/Fan Module-1 raised by monitor cluster-switch
[cluster-01: mgwd: callhome.hm.alert.major:alert]: Call home for Health Monitor process cshm: SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert[cs2/Fan Module-1]

  • The switch logs indicate that the power supplies and fans are in normal state:
