Issue

  • A BES-53248 cluster switch goes down unexpectedly, causing cluster LIFs to migrate due to ports being down:
[cluster1-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.clus.linkdown:EMERGENCY]: The cluster port e3a on node cluster1-01 has gone down unexpectedly.
[cluster1-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.reach.noreach:notice]: Network port e3a on node cluster1-01 cannot reach its expected broadcast domain Cluster:Cluster. No other broadcast domains appear to be reachable from this port.
[cluster1-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.reach.skipped:notice]: Network port e3a on node cluster1-01 was not scanned for reachability because it was administratively or operationally down at the time of the scan.
[cluster1-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.lifmoved.linkdown:notice]: LIF cluster1-01_clus1 (on virtual server 4294967293), IP address 169.254.12.54, is being moved to node cluster1-01, port e3b.
  • The ports come back up shortly after:
[cluster1-01: kernel: netif.linkUp:info]: Ethernet e3a: Link up.
[cluster1-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.portup:notice]: A link up event was received on node cluster1-01, port e3a.

There is no clear reason for the reboot in the switch logs, such as a kernel panic, fan failures, or temperature issues.
